The Minister of Wellness

Greetings! My name is Nathaniel Jordan.

I am a:

  • Nationally Certified Health Coach with the American Council on Exercise
  • Nutrition Fitness Specialist with the American Council on Exercise
  • Certified Master Trainer with the National Federation of Professional Trainers
  • Strength Coach
  • Motivational Health & Wellness Speaker
  • A graduate of Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Nutrition Education Institute
  • A veteran of The United States Marine Corps (2004-2008)
  • A veteran of The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (2008-2015)

I started my health journey in October of 2011, after reaching a body-weight of 260 pounds and 30% body-fat. I utilized the traditional diet of moderation and portion size control combined with vigorous exercise to lose 75 pounds by April of 2012. I continued losing weight until I reached 168 lbs, and 4% body-fat by November of 2012. I also reversed my high blood pressure during this time.

Eventually, low-carb portion control dieting became too difficult to maintain, and I began to slowly put weight back on, reaching 195 pounds in May of 2013. It was at this time, I read “Eat to Live” by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and the information in his book changed my life forever. For the first time in my life, I learned the connection between what we EAT and disease. In addition to his work, I also studied and learned from NUMEROUS other nutritional healers such as Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Milton Mills, Dr. Kim Williams, and John Robbins.

As I mastered eating to live, I witnessed the miraculous healing power of a nutrient-dense plant-RICH diet-style, when I cured myself of high triglycerides, after a Cardiologist was looking to place me on prescription medications. He was shocked when my levels went from over 300 mg to under 70 mg in just 42 days.

Eating a nutrient-dense, plant-rich diet also enabled me to cure myself of frequent headaches, and my aching joints got a lot better. I continued diving into the knowledge about the relationship between food and disease, and the more I learned, the more I desired to share my experience and expertise with the world. I immediately became famous on the Police Department and started helping others learn how to eat better and exercise for FREE. When I realized I had found my life’s calling, in 2014, I became a Certified Personal Trainer, and in August of 2016, I became a Certified Health Coach.

I decided to leave my career as a Police Officer and on February 2nd, 2017, I started a non-profit organization – Ministry of Wellness, Inc. The mission of my organization is to ELIMINATE health disparities, especially within the Black Community, by informing and motivating concerning the healing power of lifestyle and nutritional medicine, the potency of Food Addiction, and the dangers of prescription medications. It disturbs me that the masses are not being adequately educated about the power of food to either destroy or heal our bodies. As a Minister of Wellness, I want to spread the knowledge which propelled me to excellent health to ALL, regardless of race or income level. I have committed myself that I will NEVER turn anyone away who needs my assistance, just because of a lack of funds.

In addition to my passion for teaching people about Nutrition, I am an exercise nut. I have always enjoyed exercise from the time I was a child. Even at 260 pounds, I could still do 21 consecutive pull-ups! I was a member of the All-Marine Boxing Team for an 8-month stretch from 2006-2007.  During my time as a Police Officer, I competed in Guns N Hoses Boxing Tournament in 2012, after having used boxing as the first exercise of choice to lose all my weight. Currently, I am a competitive power-lifter having won 1st place in a Dead-lift competition in December of 2015 with a 545-pound pull, at only 180 pounds.

Although I love being a full-time Minister of Wellness, my 12 consecutive years serving this country as a Marine and my hometown as a Police Officer, has helped me tremendously in having the discipline, focus, and resolve I will need to accomplish the monumental task before me. I understand the problem causing the ever-widening health gap between the “haves” and “have not’s,” especially within the Black Community, but my past has afforded me the “toughness” it will take to stay focused until wellness rolls down like waters, and healing as a mighty stream.

Why do I call myself The Minister of Wellness? Minister means “TO SERVE,” and “wellness” is the ongoing process of being healthy. My mission is to help you achieve and maintain PERMANENT health throughout your entire life. I am genuinely excited to have the honor to SERVE YOU, in achieving your health and fitness goals.

I hope you live a long life in EXCELLENT HEALTH.

Yes this is MY Before and After!

I went from 260 to 165 pounds and 30% to 4.5% body-fat in under 1 year!

I am proud to be one of the LESS  than 1 out of 100 dieters,

who have maintained their weight loss for at-least 5 years.
