The Minister of Wellness

Greetings! My name is Nathaniel Jordan.

I am a:

  • A graduate of Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Nutrition Education Institute
  • A veteran of The United States Marine Corps (2004-2008)
  • A veteran of The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (2008-2015)

I started this health journey in October of 2011, after reaching a body-weight of 260 pounds and 30% body-fat. Utilizing the traditional diet of moderation and portion control combined with vigorous exercise, I lost 75 pounds by April of 2012. I continued losing weight until reaching 168 lbs, with 4% body-fat as of November of 2012 and reversed my high blood pressure during this time.

Eventually, low-carb portion control dieting became too difficult to maintain, and I slowly regained weight, reaching 195 pounds in May of 2013. It was at this time, I read “Eat to Live” by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and the information in his book changed my life forever. For the first time, I learned the connection between what we EAT and disease. In addition to his work, I also studied and learned from NUMEROUS other nutritional healers such as Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Milton Mills, Dr. Kim Williams, and John Robbins.

Mastered the “eat to live” method, I witnessed the miraculous healing power of consuming a nutrient-dense plant-RICH diet. I cured myself of high triglycerides after a Cardiologist was looking to place me on prescription medications. He was shocked when my levels went from over 300 mg to under 70 mg in just 42 days.

Eating a nutrient-dense, plant-rich diet cured my of frequent headaches and aching joints. I continued diving into the knowledge about the relationship between food and disease, and the more I learned, the more I desired to share my experience and expertise with the world. Fellow Police Officers saught my nutritional advice and when I started helping others learn how to eat better and exercise, I realized I had found my life’s calling. In 2014, I became a Certified Personal Trainer, and in August of 2016, I became a Certified Health Coach.

I decided to leave Law Enforcement to start a non-profit organization – Ministry of Wellness, Inc. The mission of my organization is to inform, educate, and motivate regarding the healing power of nutritional excellence. It disturbs me how the masses are not being adequately taught about the power of food to either destroy or heal our bodies.

Although I love being a full-time Minister of Wellness, 12 consecutive years serving this country as a Marine and my hometown as a Police Officer, helped tremendously in having the discipline, focus, and resolve I will need to accomplish the monumental task before me.

Why do I call myself The Minister of Wellness? Minister means “TO SERVE,” and “wellness” is the ongoing process of being healthy. My mission is to help you achieve and maintain PERMANENT health throughout your entire life. I am genuinely excited to have the honor to SERVE YOU, in achieving your health and fitness goals.
